SkyView Free: Identify Stars, Constellations, Planets, Satellites, and More Review

Review Criterion
To make the high quality content on our website, we've developed a system of creative rules for our reviewers. Our writers are professional app testers: 15 to 20 hours with each app or game on at least one trending version of iOS/Android is a must.

The SkyView Free application from the developer Terminal Eleven will allow you to explore the starry sky and space using your smartphone with a camera without using additional equipment. With its help, you can even determine the position of the Hubble Space Telescope or the International Space Station in space. The application allows you to explore the starry sky not only at night but also during the day.

Functionality 5/5

The functionality of this application is quite extensive and has many interesting features. To find out which celestial body or galaxy you can see in the sky, you just need to point your phone's camera at the desired object and tap the screen. You will get all the necessary information about it, such as name, size, category, alternate name or the story about a celestial body or galaxy. The app also has a night vision mode with red and green filter modes for easy observation. You can make beautiful pictures of the starry sky or individual celestial bodies or satellites and share them with friends or family on social networks. You can also track the movement of celestial bodies such as the Sun or the Moon or another planet on a daily basis. By selecting a specific date in the calendar, you can find out the location of a particular celestial body in the past or future.

Design 5/5

The design of this application is easy to use. The interface of the application will interest users with its simplicity and thoughtfulness, and the excellent detail of the described objects will not leave indifferent space explorers. You can add the names of your favorite celestial bodies to the "Favorites" to be able to quickly find information about them. Categories of celestial bodies by type, such as a planet, a constellation, or possibly a man-made object, also allow you to quickly select the desired celestial body.

Usability 4/5

This application will be useful for anyone who enjoys space exploration. If you are interested in the history of space or individual celestial bodies or satellites, you can find all this information in this application. More than a million downloads show that this application is interesting for those who do not have special equipment, but seek to learn our universe better.

Cross-platform Use 4/5

The application is designed for platforms such as Android 5.0 and higher and iOS 12.0 or higher, as well as compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. The application has its town database, so it does not require Wi-Fi access. There is also no need for a GPS signal for correct operation.

If You Like

If you want to know the exact location of celestial bodies, monitor them not only at night but also during the day, be able to work with the application anywhere, even with no Internet access, or learn to navigate the stars using only the camera of your smartphone, then pay attention to this application.
