Classical Game "Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion" Receives a Modern Remaster by Nightdive Studios
Nightdive Studios, known for its specialization in remastering classic video games, is completing its Turok trilogy project. The studio initially remastered Turok 2 six years ago and the first part of the trilogy eight years ago. Now, it’s introducing the Turok 3 remaster, set to be released on the PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch on November 14.
Originally, Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion was released in 2000 for the N64 and Game Boy Color. The game's aptly named remastered version is its first reissue since its initial launch. It uses the N64 version as the foundation and features improvements in environment art, character models, and weapon models. Apart from this, the remaster will also introduce advanced rendering features, including anti-aliasing, bloom, ambient occlusion, dynamic shadows, and motion blur.
The game will offer gameplay up to 4K 120fps performance on the PC, PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Switch. It will also include controller enhancements such as rumble and optional gyro controls for Switch. Trophies and Achievements on Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox will be available upon the remaster's November 14 release.
Nightdive's director of business development, Larry Kuperman, expressed his enthusiasm in a recent statement about sharing the improved version of Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion with players.
