Unveiling The Sins of New Wells: A New Chapter in The Rise of the Golden Idol

The upcoming downloadable content for The Rise of the Golden Idol is set to expand the game's universe further. Recently, Color Gray Games and Playstack hinted at this addition, The Sins of New Wells, confirming it would be released in March without specifying an exact date. However, it has now been officially announced for release on the 4th of March, offering players a chance to dive back into engaging cases sooner than expected.
The Sins of New Wells will be priced at £4.99 or €4.89 for consoles and PC. Fans who enjoy the Netflix version of the game will find this DLC included automatically, and those who possess the Detective Pass will also receive it without extra charge.
The new storyline introduces Homicide detective Roy Samson, who relocates to the 9th District—an area where corruption permeates as deeply as the sewage systems of New Wells. Alongside his new partner, Cliff Savea, the duo faces a series of violent cases that lead them into the realm of something much darker and more complex: Lemurian magic.
Players can expect to tackle four intriguing mysteries titled:
- Following Orders
- Trouble Unleashed
- The Raid
- Unravelling
Like in the primary game, engaging with these puzzles will require keen insight, but the satisfaction of unraveling them will offer a fulfilling gameplay experience.
