They can also submit images and request the AI to produce new visuals from them. Nonetheless, the previous limitation that prevented the utilization of personal profile images for this purpose has changed.
During the latest event, it was revealed that the 'Imagine' feature will be accessible to all users on Facebook and Instagram, facilitating the creation of both posts and Stories. Essentially, users can prompt the AI to envision them as various characters, such as superheroes or space explorers, with the AI delivering corresponding images. Early indications suggest that these AI-created visuals may lean towards a digital art style rather than realistic representations, and the company is integrating AI-generated watermarks into these images as well.
Furthermore, users will soon have the option to create unique chat themes in Instagram DM and Messenger using AI. Previously, customization options were limited to changing background colors and chat bubble designs; the new feature promises enhanced personalization.
The organization is additionally trialing a feature for recommendations linked with 'Imagine'. Plans are in place to display automatically generated AI visuals of users’ profile images within the feeds on Instagram and Facebook, tailored to their interests or trending topics. If users find these images appealing, they can opt to share them on their feeds or Stories, with the possibility to modify the suggested content by simply tapping on it.
